Say hello to autumn

Open Today

With the darker nights closing in and autumn right around the corner, it's the perfect time for a wardrobe update. Think cosy jumpers, thick scarfs and of course - your new winter coat. To get you in the mood we've rounded up six trends we're loving this season at Broughton.

Fashion with bite

Go wild for animal print this autumn. Become king or queen of the jungle with this season’s most popular trend. From spots, scales, stripes and everything in between, there’s plenty of ways to get involved. Whether you’re a classic leopard lover or feel like branching out into wilder prints, you’re sure to find something to love this season from a range of retailers including New LookRiver Island and Primark. Think leopard print faux fur coats for those wild nights out or choose something with more bite for everyday office wear, such as midi dresses in a selection of prints.

Check mate

Tartan? Plaid? Check! Whatever your preferred pattern, tick this one off the list from Next or Outfit. You can opt for a classic blazer in toned-down tartan or heritage houndstooth for work wear chic. We’re also loving patterned trousers teamed with a block colour top to really make the pattern pop. Mixing traditional patterns with contemporary style? It’s a yes from us.

That 70’s style

Corduroy is back! Step away from dull, moody colours and think beautiful warm tones like mustard, nutmeg, brown and burnt orange. To keep corduroy simple, we’re opting for black mini-skirts complete with a colorful roll-neck jumper to complete the look. Add some spice to your wardrobe with mustard or nutmeg this season: coats, jumpers, skirt or boots - what will you choose? Try New Look, Outfit or Primark to hunt down that perfect piece.

New Nordic

Danish and Swedish influences continue to dominate the style trends for homeware this autumn. Think dark wood, minimalist pieces and sumptuous, deep colours such as teal and slate grey mixed with lighter pieces to brighten up even the darkest of winter nights. We’re loving the new homeware collections from Next, Homesense or Asda Living.

Heavy Metal

As the darker nights draw in it’s time to brighten up your night-time wardrobe. Silver pieces add a luxurious touch to any outfit, whether you’re opting for a full-length dress or touches of metallic in your accessories. And there’s no need to worry - you don’t have to go full disco (unless you want to) since there’s plenty of toned down matte or flat silver options to choose from at Broughton.
